Every qualified California student should get a place in University of California(UC) system. That's a desirable goal for a public university. However, UC Berkeley Chancellor Robert Birgeneau displaces Californians qualified for education at Cal. with $50,600 tuition Foreigners.
Paying more is not a better education. UC tuition increases exceed the national average rate of increase. The UC Board Of Regents jeopardizes Californians attending higher education by making UC the most expensive public university.
Self-serving tuition increases are used by UC President Mark Yudof to increase the pay of 80,000 eligible faculty & others. Payoffs like these point to higher operating costs and still higher tuition for Californians. Instate tuition consumes 14% of Cal. Median Family Income! UC is hijacking our kids' futures: student debt.
I agree that faculty in higher education and senior management, like Yudof and Birgeneau, should consider the students' welfare & put it high on their values. Deeds unfortunately do not bear out the students' welfare values of UC Berkeley Birgeneau's senior management and the UC Board of Regents.
We must act. Chancellor Birgeneau's campus police deployed violent baton jabs on students protesting increases in tuition. The sky above UC will not fall when Chancellor Birgeneau ($450,000 salary) is ousted.

And yet the Regents backed AB 131, giving Illegal Aliens $40 Million of Legal Students' State aid and further impacting education budget with no ROI (return on investment). This will only become larger every year. Say goodbye to YOUR higher education. Sorry if the truth hurts. :(

Do you know how much money they waste on student body government ?
Just pay the underfunded teachers and get rid of the stupid, disappointing student body government.The real betterment of the school is in its teachers, not these stupid pipe-dream programs that everyone is so inconsistent with that nobody likes that only pertains to a few people.If you really care about the school you wouldn't support "student politicians" who waste money and make it seem like they spend it on something good when the next thing you know they leave and go to Berkeley or UCLA because it goes on their transcript, and you are SUCKERED once again. SEE HOW MANY STUDENTS JOIN ASDVC ONCE YOU TAKE AWAY THAT PRIVILEGE OF IT GOING ON THEIR TRANSCRIPT. DEFINE THAT POLITICIAN BY THEIR ACTIONS AND NOT THEIR TITLE.I know at times school teaches survival of the fittest, that is the politicians main philosophy, they don't care about anyone else but themselves.Student Politicians DO NOT care about anyone but themselves. Low voter turn out means your politicians suck and don't hold attention because they don't serve the students, because you fail them as a leader.
By the way latest anonymous - Lindsey, shut up. We know its you. You cannot define what "having a life" is considering you sell yours.
Move to So Cal already, nobody will miss you except those looking for some you know what.
