It's time for us to get out of our cars. As the cost of gasoline rises towards five dollars a gallon, the search for cheaper ways to get to school is becoming a No. 1 priority. Look around DVC, and you'll see things are already changing. The bus stops are more crowded, people are beginning to carpool, bicycles are becoming popular again, and the motorcycle spaces in the parking lots are beginning to fill up.
I live on a sticky sweet diet of George A. Romero and Sam Raimi horror films. I cheered during "Dead Alive," when Lionel wielded a lawnmower to dispatch enough zombies to fill an Olympic size pool with undead blood and guts. And I howled with delight in "Day of the Dead," when the evil Captain Rhodes was eviscerated by a horde of feasting zombies.
George W. Bush triumphed over Al Gore and then John Kerry in 2000 and 2004 because of voter fraud. Impossible, you say? Think again. Project Censored, the media watchdog group, dedicated an entire chapter to Bush's second-term victory in its 2006 edition of the previous year's most underreported and covered-up stories.
From "Beavis and Butt-Head" to "Sportscenter," I have watched thousands of shows millions of times during my 21 years. And it is increasingly clear that television is slowly destroying my intelligence. "Rock of Love," "The Real World," "Elimi-Date," and "Access Hollywood" - this is what television has become.
